O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
As a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear-
Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!

I line my eyes like a raccoon and my nail polish is always cracked.

The first Chinese New Year spent with my paternal relatives was so good.

Think: 11 uncles [with the most senior being over 80 and underground], 3 aunts and a whole slew of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dad's the littlest tyke so I'm right at the end of this patriarchal empire, and my nieces and nephews are twice my age.

It's interesting how they're all so alike grandpa - alkies, English-speaking [every single kid, which is so amazing considering the time], puffers.

We got in touch with Peranakan roots by having 266487 Peranakan dishes lovingly bought by fourth uncle from a million different areas around Singapore. Beach Road, Kampong Glam, Race Course Road etc. DELISH, I swear.

Bless my grandpa for being that Casanova he was and bagging four wives.
